Program & Services

ICUT has two operating components,  ICUT Programs and ICUT Services. The programs are designed for specific groups (Credit Union Managers, Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, etc). All programs can be accessed completely through the Internet or by hard copy text. The services are provided as tools to assist you in fulfilling your credit union responsibilities. Below is a directory of the facility with a description of the benefits. Begin by selecting the group that is of most interest to you in fulfilling your responsibilities with the credit union:

ICUT Programs

Supervisory Committee Program

Describes the characteristics, structure, power, qualifications, activity and liability of  the supervisory committee.
Describes the fundamental responsibilities of the supervisory committee.
Describes how to manage the supervisory committee's performance and to plan for long term success.

Describes the utilization of an outside accounting firm and the process of selecting the right firm.
Describes the annual audit and specific credit union audit procedures.
Defines internal controls, explains how to develop internal controls and provides tools in assessing current internal controls.

Board of Directors Program
Defines what a credit union is, the services it offers, the groups it serves and the structure from which it operates.
Describes the fundamental responsibilities of the board of directors.
Defines what strategic planning is, the benefits of planning and how to implement the planning process.
Provides insight on how to interpret and utilize credit union financial statements.

Credit Committee Program
Describes the characteristics, structure, power, qualifications, and activity of  the credit committee.
Describes the components of a loan file and how to use this information in granting credit decisions.
Describes the various sections of the loan application and identifies key considerations when evaluating for credit.
Explains what income verification is and how it is used in making credit decisions.
Explains what the credit report is and how it is used in making credit decisions. 
Explains what the debt-to-income ratio is, how it is calculated and how it is used in making credit decisions.

CU Management & Staff Program
Consist of three sections: 1) the CU Manager's Guide discusses the key operational issues of managing a credit union, 2) the Do-It-Yourself Credit Union is designed to empower management to perform higher level functions with little or no assistance from expensive outside consultants and 3) the Staff: Member Services module will provide insight on working effectively with members.

CU Manager's Guide
Provides an introduction to the guide and explains how it can serve as a useful management.
Describes what constitutes a quality loan program and how to develop such a program.

Provides specific procedures for an effective collection program. Click here for more free information.
Provides a detailed explanation of the major credit union accounting issues.
Explains how to achieve financial stability and ways to measure the success of the credit union.

Offers suggestions on developing strong internal control.

Do-It-Yourself Credit Union
Laugh Your Way To The Credit Union
An educational program that can be used to introduce 7-8 year old students to financial concepts and credit unions.

Do-A-PowerPoint Presentation
Credit unions can obtain ICUT PowerPoint Presentations and modify them to educate SEG's, members & potential members on the benefits of membership.

Staff: Member Services Module
Provides a list of "Do's & Don'ts" that every employee should consider when  working in the member services area.
Offers a thorough discussion on Cash Transaction Reporting (CTR) requirements.
Defines and discusses all of the considerations surrounding the issue of sexual discrimination in the workplace.
Explains what credit union records are considered "vital" and how long these records should be maintained.
Provides an interesting perspective on the "Other Duties As May Be Assigned" phrase.

 

ICUT Services

Real Live Response Center
A free service that enables members to submit their "real live" questions regarding their  role with the credit union. For members only.

Pre-recorded Webnars
For a fraction of the cost to attend a LIVE webnar on a specific credit union topic, anyone can now obtain a previously conducted webnar that has been recorded on a CD ROM. Each CD contains the audio portion as well as the original powerpoint used during the LIVE program. 

Custom Training/Planning Programs
ICUT Services will provide actual proposals to conduct on-site training and planning programs specifically designed to meet the needs of your credit union.

Audit Forms Kit
A kit that provides a complete set of over twenty auditing forms that have been designed to streamline the credit union auditing process.
